Trento, February 6th 2017

The final rush of regular season of SuperLega Unipolsai 2016/27 has started in the best possible way for Diatec Trentino. The yellow-blue team opened the cycle of the last six league matches winning for 3-0 at PalaYamamay of Busto Arsizio on Sunday versus Milano, gaining three points of advantage both on Perugia (which was in the same position in ranking as Trento until Sunday afternoon) and Modena, which is in fourth position with five less points.
Next match, scheduled for Wednesday, February 8th at PalaTrento (22nd day of regular season, 8.30 p.m), will see Angelo Lorenzetti's team versus a brilliant Calzedonia Verona in a high ranking derby of Adige. From the moment that Nikola Grbic (unforgettable setter of Diatec Trentino who won the league in 2008 and the Champions League in 2009) begun Verona's coach, the team from Veneto hasn't skipped a beat, gaining six consecutive victories. The last one has been on Sunday night versus the champions of last season of Azimut Modena.
We're definitely happy to have conquered again our second place in ranking, but now we will have to fight tooth and nail to defend it, starting from Wednesday's match versus Verona – explained in an interview by Radio Dolomiti after the end of the match in Busto Arsizio - . Our opponents will feel reassured by their victory for 3-0 versus Modena; we will have to be good enough to pool our energies in order to play a great match because we will need to show a high quality volleyball if we want to win. We're ready far enough, we know that a great battle is waiting for us but we will be ready to fight”.
We've been good at maintaining high the quality of our performance in Milano: it wasn't easy at all – continued the Argentine middle-blocker - . We were coming from a hard week plenty of trips and our tiredness could come out at any time; it wasn't fortunately like this because we have been very precise in all the fundamentals: we certainly did a great work with reception, attack and service. We succeeded in being very incisive especially with our service and this is obviously a good sign since we're working hard to improve the quality of this fundamental in the break point phase”.
Diatec Trentino started to prepare Wednesday's match already today in the late afternoon, with a training session lasting almost two hours at PalaTrento, divided between weights and technique. Two other training sessions are scheduled before the match versus Verona: the first one between 4 and 6.30 p.m of Tuesday and the second one for the morning of the day of the match. The sale of tickets will be active until 4 p.m of Wednesday at Trentino Volley Point of Via Trener 2 and PromoEvent in Via Suffragio 10 in Trento and at any moment by clicking at http://www.vivaticket.it/ita/event/trento-vs-verona/94337.
