From Friday September 16th Simon Van de Voorde will play on the first of two weekends of important qualification-matches to participate to the European Championship 2017. In the next ten days the middle blocker of Trentino Volley, the only player of the new team still not available for Lorenzetti, will try to qualify with Belgium to the European Championship, scheduled in 12 months in Poland. In order to effectively enter the tournament, it will be required to score the greatest number of points in the double round in the Pool C which includes Greece, Moldova and Ukraine. The first bracket will be played between September 16th and September 18th in Greece, in Kozani; the second one will be played in Merksem (Belgium) next weekend (from September 22nd to September 25th) without giving Van de Voorde the possibility to take part to the Final Four of Del Monte SuperCup 2016. Only the first team qualified in the ranking list, which will be drawn up considering the results of the two weekends of matches, will effectively enter the continental tourney, whereas between October 1st and October 9th the second qualified will play a tie-breaker against a team equally qualified in one of the other five pools. The national team Belgium of Van de Voorde will debut on Friday 16th from 4 pm to 9 pm against the home team of Greece; then on Saturday 17th at 6 pm it will play against Ukraine and lastly on Sunday 18th at 6 pm against Moldova.
