Modena, February 18th 2018

Diatec Trentino confirms its good away attitude also in the hardest away match of the return round of SuperLega Unipolsai 2017/18. With a performance of passion, dazzle and technique, the yellow-blue conquered tonight PalaPanini of Modena at the tie-break, achieving an important victory in the 69th long-awaited A22 Derby versus Azimut.
The victory, alongside extending the winning streak in away championship matches (eight in a row), allows Lorenzetti’s team to obtain again the fourth solitary place in ranking, also thanks to the defeats in three sets of Verona versus Civitanova. The two points obtained in Emilia came after a very vibrant and balanced match, in which Lorenzetti’s team showed, even without Hoag, of being able to handle the pressure of more than 5.000 spectators (including a hundred of yellow-blue supporters) and to win a hard match that, after the first lost set, could have certainly been a different one. The continuity of Kovacevic (mvp and best scorer with 23 personal points), including three aces and 51% in attack phase), the decisive scored points of captain Lanza (21 scored points and a very decisive ace at the end of the second set) and the attentive setting skills of Gianneli made the difference versus a Modena that, without Ngapeth, had often to rely on the former players Urnaut (22) and Mazzone (11). The fine job done by Diatec’s block and defence and the choice of insisting with Vettori, decisive with 50% in attack phase, helped the yellow-blues a lot.
