Tine Urnaut spikes against Anzani and... Stokr block!

Trento, 1st September 2016
A little more than an hour of techniques and tactics applied on the central field of PalaTrento together with the team of Verona in front of more than one hundred and fifty spectators. The training in the late afternoon together with the opposing team from Verona was very useful in order to relax muscles and check the physical condition of the eight players of Trentino Volley who have participated in the first part of the preparation.
As always in this period of the season, the final result has been the least important aspect for the coaches, also because the team of Calzedonia had no available players in zone 4 and Lorenzetti had to “lend” Giani from the second set on one different high-ball player per set. The winner was Verona, thanks to the strength of Urnaut in the second set, of Tiziano Mazzone in the third, and of Stokr in the fourth. The Czech opposite hitter had played the role of spiker in the half-field of Trentino Volley before.
Diatec Trentino had its best results thanks to its blocks, scoring 10 points (3 of Daniele Mazzone), and its services (9 aces). Considering the single performances we must point out the good hitting percentage of the middle blockers (60% for Burghsthaler, 56% for Mazzone) and the continuity shown by Nelli (56%).
There are already interesting points the team can work on from the next Friday morning, the first of the three-days’ team retreat in Valsugana, during which the technical staff can count on 5 more players such as Antonov, Colaci, Giannelli, Lanza and Solè.
Here is the table of the training of today’s afternoon at PalaTrento.
