Last day of 2016/17 regular season established the final ranking and combinations for the quarter-finals of Championship play-offs of SuperLega UnipolSai. This is the complete framework of the challenges that will take place in three matches from Sunday March 5^th.

Dates of the matches that Diatec Trentino will play in the quarter-finals of 2017 Championship play-offs:

Match 1: Sunday March 5^th, 6 p.m. (at PalaTrento – match not included in subscription)
Match 2: Wednesday March 8^th, 8.30 p.m. (at the Sport Centre in Monza)
A possible Match 3: Sunday March 12^th, 6 p.m. (at PalaTrento – match not included in subscription)

In the first phase of the Championship play-offs Trentino Volley is going to face Monza again, a team that the yellow-blue players have already played against in the same phase of Del Monte^® Coppa Italia 2017. For Monza this will be the first time competing in the post-season phase for the Italian championship. For Diatec Trentino, this is going to be attendance n. 15 at the Championship play-offs, that will start from March 5^th, out of seventeen seasons. On the fourteen previous occasions, Diatec Trentino was able to overcome the quarter-finals: in 2005/6 season defeating Modena (2-1), in 2007/8 season against Modena again, this time registering 2-0, in the following one when it was able to beat Vibo in three matches (3-0), in 2009/10 season as it won against Verona in three games (3-0), in 2009/10 season defeating San Giustino (3-0), the following season winning a three-team tournament in the Easter weekend at PalaTrento against Roma and San Giustino (double 3-0). In 2012/13 season as it won against Vibo Valentia in two matches (three if we consider the series that started from 1-0), in 2014/15 season as it defeated Molfetta (2-0) and in the following one beating the same team in five games.
On all other occasions, Diatec Trentino was eliminated in the first phase, against Modena (2002/03 in five matches and 2013/14 in two games), Perugia (in four matches, after winning regular season), Piacenza (2004/05 in five games) and Cuneo (2006/07 in three matches). If we don’t consider the short and painful adventure in the edition of 2014, Trentino Volley has always won at least one match in every play-off in which it has played; in eleven cases out of fourteen this happened on the first match of his competition: in the home match against Modena (3-0) in 2008, again in a home match against Vibo (3-2) in 2009, against Verona (3-0) in 2010, against San Giustino in 2011, in 2012 (3-0 at PalaTrento), in Vibo Valentia in 2013, against Molfetta in 2015 and again beating the same team in 2016.
