On Sunday 19th March at PalaTrento Trentino Volley will play its tenth semi-final of Play Off Scudetto out of fifteen participations, the ninth in the last ten years. The match against Perugia in the semi-finals will be the remake of the edition of 2015 (victory for the Club of via Trener in three matches, 2-1); in the other eight semi-finals Diatec Trentino has played twice against Cuneo and Modena and one time against Treviso, Rome, Macerata and Latina.
The Club of via Trener has got the qualification to the final seven times; the only negative precedents were in the first and in the last semi-final of its history: season 2005/06 against Sisley Treviso and season 2015/16 against Modena (in both cases defeat after four matches, 1-3). In all nine semi-finals in its history, Trentino Volley has won at least one match. Trento has played 95 matches in Play Off Scudetto so far, winning 60 times (22 away matches) and losing 35 times (23 away matches). The player who has played the highest number of matches with Diatec Trentino is the former Emanuele Birarelli, who reached 60 participations in the season 2014/15 (21 in the semi-finals of Play Off Scudetto) before he went to play for Perugia.
