Trento, January 25th 2018

After having won in four sets the recover match of the 17th turn of regular season versus BCC Castellana Grotte, Diatec Trentino remained in Puglia waiting to play, on Saturday night, the semi-finals of Del Monte® Coppa Italia 2018 versus Perugia.

The day before the eve of the match, which will award a place in the finals on Sunday, was characterized by a day off, which most of the team decided to spend with a short tour in the centre of Bari, and by an evening training session at PalaPoli in Molfetta.

In the stadium, which has hosted the home matches of Exprivia in SuperLega for four seasons, the yellow-blues participated to a training session which lasted two hours, divided among weight room and technique/tactic on the main field. Daniele De Pandis joined the group as well; the libero keeps doing his recover programme after his knee surgery, he participated to most of the training session with his teammates, especially focusing on reception and couple exercises.

Diatec Trentino will resume training on Friday night, between 6 and 7.30 p.m., in this case again at PalaFlorio. “The actual ranking of SuperLega says that we’re not expected to win the finals but this could only one more stimulus to try to reach our goal and to conquer the qualification to the final at least, as happened in the recent past – explained captain Filippo Lanza - . We played the last three matches that awarded Coppa Italia but we didn’t manage to win, it would be very hard to change this bad tradition but we want to try, giving our best in every single action. We’re self-confident and aware of the strength of Perugia at the same time, they defeated us two times in two matches this season”.
