Trento, September 14th 2016

A wonderful atmosphere and a cheering crowd welcomed Diatec Trentino to PalaTrento at the first, friendly home match of 2016/2017. More than 400 supporters applauded coach Lorenzetti’s team on victory by 3-2 against LPR Piacenza, showing a better condition and game attitude than the opponents, as already proven a week before in Emilia.
Key part for the tie-break success was played by setter Giannelli (best scorer with 16 points, with 4 blocks and 5 aces). The brilliant performance behind the 9 metres line covered up the natural difficulties the team has shown in the attack fundamentals during this early season period, allowing 18 overall aces, 5 scored by Antonov and 3 by opposites duo Stokr-Nelli. Many of the hottest points were solved by serve fundamental along with blocker Solé’s first sets (60%), and Antonov’s contribution replacing captain Lanza and Nelli’s 62% attacks stats.

Here is the table of the non-official friendly match played tonight at PalaTrento.
