Diatec Trentino is on the second place of SuperLega ranking

The results of Sunday evening of the 23rd day of regular season have indeed finished the race for the victory of the regular season but have at the same time made harder the race for the second place in ranking. Lube will just need to gain one point in the last three days of regular season to secure their first place in ranking and gain one of the three available pass for CEV Volleyball Champions League 2018. More uncertain and intensive seems the race for the second place, the winner of which will be given the possibility to play one more home match than its opponent in the quarterfinals and semifinals. Everything will be decided in just a week: between February 19th (date of the next turn) and February 26th (date of the 25th day), will be played the last three days of regular season, bearing in mind that the 26th turn has been anticipated to Wednesday, February 22nd.
In line for the vice-Lube role are not only Trento and Perugia (both with 53 points) but also Modena (50 points), which won an important match on Sunday versus Molfetta. With nine available points for the three team, everything is still possible, with the calendar also presenting a direct match. On Sunday Diatec Trentino will wait for Modena for a remake of the semifinals of Coppa Italia played on January 28th in Bologna. Lorenzetti's team, now ahead of Sir Safety Conad for the best set quotient, will try to manta in PalaTrento untouched to then play again at home versus Molfetta and the away match versus Monza. After the direct match, Modena will play in Civinatova during the week and will then host Piacenza; for Perugia, last but not least, the calendar has scheduled an away match for February 19th in Latina, versus a Top Volley that has managed to take the opportunity for the playoffs on Sunday, then the one in Busto Arsizio on Wednesday 22nd and the home match versus Verona on February 26th.
Before starting the race for the second place, Trentino Diatec will have focus its attention on the return match of the round of sixteen of CEV Cup 2017, that wil be played at PalaTrento on Wednesday, February 15th at 8.30 p.m versus Sastamala. To pass the turn, Lanza and teammates will have to win at least two sets; the resumption of training for the important match is scheduled for Tuesday morning in the weight room of the stadium of Via Fersina.
