Diatec Trentino after the victory against Molfetta

Diatec Trentino is going to rank among the first three teams by the end of the regular season thanks to the three points conquered on Wednesday evening at PalaTrento in the 3-0 victory against Molfetta. Due to this success, Modena won’t be able to perform a comeback, even in case of victory tonight in Civitanova. Without any doubt, Lube will rank at first place whereas there are still possibilities to obtain second place for two competing teams: Trento and Perugia. They have collected equal points (59) and victories (20); however, Diatec Trentino has a better position in the current ranking as it registers a better set quotient (tiebreaker in case of equality both in victories and points): 2,50 vs 2,39. For this reason, last match of regular season will be decisive to establish final positions and on this occasion the yellow-blue team will play in Monza while at the same time Sir Safety Conad will face Verona. Here are all possible combinations.

Diatec Trentino will rank at 2^nd place in three possible cases:

• wins in Monza playing a maximum of four sets (3-0 or 3-1);
• Perugia loses against Verona with a maximum of four sets (0-3 or 1-3);
• Diatec Trentino wins in Monza regardless of the score obtained and Perugia conquers more than two points against Verona;
• totals the same result as Perugia.

Diatec Trentino will rank at 3^rd place in the following cases:

• wins 3-2 in Monza and Perugia defeats its opponent with a maximum of four sets (3-0 or 3-1);
• loses in Monza regardless of the final score and Perugia wins against Verona regardless of the final score;
• loses in Monza playing a maximum of four sets (0-3 or 1-3) and Verona defeats Perugia at tie break.

Depending on the final ranking, Diatec Trentino will then know who is going to face in the quarter-finals of Play Off Scudetto 2017, that will start on Sunday March 5^th. Teams will go on to the following round after winning three matches. Possible opponents are Piacenza (that will occupy the 6^th position without any doubt and so will be Diatec Trentino’s opponent just in case the yellow-blue team ranks at 3^rd place), Monza and Ravenna, that will fight for 7^th place; Trento will face one of this two teams just in case it will ranks second.
