Trento, 21st October 2017
This Sunday Diatec Trentino will play the second day of 2017/2018 SuperLega UnipolSai in an away match against Kioene Padova in Kioene Arena; the match starting at 6 pm will be broadcasted live on RAI Sport + HD and on Radio Dolomiti.
HERE DIATEC TRENTINO After the victory on Monza on Wednesday night in Coppa Italia quarter finals, Angelo Lorenzetti and the team are going to Padova looking for the first win of the regular season and to confirm the positive performance of last match. It will be an important test in order to keep up with the top of the rank, before next Wednesday’s away match against Ravenna.
“We have two important games ahead - said Diatec Trentino coach - against two strong teams. Two decisive and tough matches we must face with humility and teamwork; we know our actual limits, even if we improved in the break phase, side out is still our weak spot. In Padova we’ll face a team who’s been deeply renewed but kept a strong identity: many young players with a great coach like Baldovin; they won’t miss their shots and we mustn’t let them have many”.
Trentino Volley arrived this morning in Padova and will train twice in the match arena: this afternoon and tomorrow morning. All thirteen players are available and ready to play.
It is the 719th official match for Trentino Volley, the number 432 in regular season, with an eventual 300th victory in regular season. Angelo Lorenzetti, who coached here in 2000 and 2001 during his first season in the top league, will also be excited for the match.
THE OPPONENT The double defeats suffered both against Perugia on Sunday and Wednesday (SuperLega and Coppa Italia quarter finals) didn’t cloud the great impression caused by Padova in the beginning of the season. Without the official setter Travica (out due to injury) and many new players coach Baldovin proved their worth winning on Piacenza in the Coppa Italia eighth finals, with Nelli and Polo, former Trentino Volley players, leading the team along with setter Peslac, who seemed at ease in this top level league. The two wing-spikers Cirovic and Randazzo are very promising, and supported by the home star libero Balaso, who joined the National team this summer.
PRECEDENTS Trentino Volley and Pallavolo Padova have a long history together since 2000, interrupted only by the relegation of Padova in A2 series in 2009 and 2012. So far, Trentino won 22 of the 26 official matches, with an ongoing streak of sixteen consecutive wins. Last time Padova won was February 2005 when home team defeated Trentino Volley 3-2. During preseason matches Diatec Trentino won 3-1 on Padova in Schio.
REFEREES The match will be directed by Gianluca Cappello (from Siracusa) and Luca Saltalippi (Perugia).
TV, RADIO AND INTERNET The match will profit from the live stream and broadcast on tv, radio and internet. RAI Sport + HD will live stream on channel 57 HD and 58 (channel 227 on Sky platform) with the commentary of Maurizio Colantoni and Andrea Lucchetta; at www.raisport.rai.it/dl/raisport/multimedia/diretta.html a live internet streaming is available, with an intenrational visibilty on Band Sports, Sportsklub, Sportsklub Poland, Dowaly/Kuwait Sport, Sportmax Caraibi, Telesports, Ote, Saran and Img.
