The tenth day of regular season SuperLega UnipolSai 2016/17 will be entirely played on Sunday 13th November. In the limelight there is the PalaTrento which will host the top match between Diatec Trentino and Cucine Lube Civitanova, respectively at the second (together with Modena) and first place in the ranking. The match will begin at 6 p.m., live report on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on Lega Volley Channel (www.sportube.tv).
HERE DIATEC TRENTINO After the victory of Wednesday evening against Verona and the second place reached also thanks to Modena’s defeat against Monza, the team of Trento will host the leader team, which has had a nearly perfect road map (nine victories in nine matches, just one point lost in a match). The match against Civitanova, which will be played in front of a public who during the ticket-presale period has already proved to be looking forward to this appointment, will be the opportunity of trying to change the ranking and of playing against the only one team that, equally, hasn’t been defeated yet.
This is an important match but it won’t be decisive; this will therefore allow us to play with the right mentality and without too much pressure – stated trainer Angelo Lorenzetti during the presentation of the match -. After we returned from Brazil, we showed important things and now we can verify our competitiveness against Civitanova, which, compared to last year, has further improved thanks to good technical basis built during the last season. In order to be competitive we will need a better approach to the match than in the last matches; we often struggle at the beginning, which we can’t afford against Lube. We need an aggressive attitude, we know we will have some difficult moments, but we have to fight with all our might”.
For the fifth home match the coach of Diatec Trentino can rely on all fourteen players and will choose the starting six only right before the match. The preparation to the match will be completed with the training sessions of tonight and tomorrow morning at PalaTrento.
On Sunday, Trentino Volley will play its 675th official match of its history, the 413th match of regular season, and will go in search of the 242th victory at PalaTrento, where it hasn’t been losing since 25 April 2016.
THE RIVALS Cucine Lube Civitanova will play its second direct match of the season (it won the first against Perugia last weekend) with the leadership of the championship thanks to a nearly perfect road map: fifteen points out of fifteen in the five away matches played till now. The match at PalaTrento, although not decisive, can be considered an important test from this point of view, because it will be played between the team trained by the Head Coach of the national team Gianlorenzo Blengini and the only team that still can overtake it in the ranking; Trento has two points less but it has also one match still to play (against Piacenza – on Thursday 17th the rescheduled match). The beginning of championship has been great thanks to the continuity in attack of the former players Sokolov and Juantorena and to the great recovery of the American setter Christenson, absent in Supercoppa and in the first match for a physical problem brilliantly fixed in few weeks. Giving a look at the statistics, Lube is the team with the highest attack (56%) and has a great point of reference in the block with the Bulgarian opposite (best blocker of the tournament with 35 points in this fundamental). The coach from the Marches has alternatives in every role and can choose for example between Kaliberda and Cebulj and between Candellaro and Cester as diagonal hitters respectively to Juantorena and Stankovic.
PRECEDENTS Lube is the team against which Trentino Volley has played the most matches in its history (after Modena, faced 63 times): 50 are the official matches (29 victories for Trentino Volley, 21 for Lube). As it happened 3 years ago, the match will give the temporary lead of the regular season; the last time that the two formations played against each other for the first place was on 10th November 2013. Also on that occasion the team from the Marches (which won 3-1) was leading the tournament. The most recent victory of Diatec Trentino dates back to 16th April 2016 in Cracow (3-0 in the semi-final of Champions League), while Civitanova has won the only precedent already played in this season: Lube won at the tie-breaker (23-25, 25-20, 21-25, 26-24, 20-18) in the bronze medal match of Del Monte® Supercoppa 2016, played in Modena on September 25th 2016.
REFEREES The referees of the match will be Andre Puecher (from Padua, in Serie A since 2003 and on international field since 2013) and Roberto Boris from Pavia (in Serie A since 2007 and on international field since 2010). The two referees are at their first direction together in SuperLega UnipolSai 2016/17, the fourth for Boris (last precedent with Trento on April 25th, defeat against Modena 1-3 in game 4 of semi-final of championship) and the sixth for Puecher, who has directed the match of Trentino Volley against Civitanova in the bronze medal match of Del Monte® Supercoppa 2016, played in Modena on September 25th 2016.
RADIO, TV AND INTERNET The match will be reported live by Radio Dolomiti (Trentino Volley partner network) with commentators Stefano Piffer and Andrea Cobbe. The links with the match at PalaTrento will be made within “Campioni di Sport”, the sport program of via Missioni Africane. The frequencies to listen to the regional network are available on the home page www.trentinovolley.it, while on the site www.radiodolomiti.com will be also possible to listen to the live streaming of the report of the match.
It is also scheduled a live video-report of the match on the web space “Lega Volley Channel”, at www.sportube.tv/volley; you must pay to have this service but cheap offers have been prepared until the end of November to let everyone watch the entire championship.
The recorded broadcast of the match will be entirely transmitted on Monday 14th November at 9.25 p.m. by RTTR, partner TV of the Club of via Trener, after the section “RTTR Volley”, and will be replayed on the same Monday at midnight.
On the internet, a point-to-point update will be available on the web site of Lega Pallavolo Serie A (www.legavolley.it) and of Trentino Volley (www.trentinovolley.it) and will always be active on the yellow-blue Social Networks (www.trentinovolley.it/facebook and www.trentinovolley.it/twitter).
TICKETS AND MERCHANDISING The ticket-presale for the match against Civitanova is available until this evening at 7 p.m. at the offices of Promoevent, in via Suffragio 10 in Trento, and at any time at http://www.vivaticket.it/ita/event/trento-vs-civitanova/90479. The coupons will be available also on Sunday at PalaTrento from 5 p.m., when the entrance will be opened. The counters will remain open until the end of the second set. From that moment it will no longer be possible to enter PalaTrento to watch the rest of the match.
