Izmir (Turkey), 30th January 2018
Trentino Diatec landed in Turkey a little after 06.00 pm (time in Italy), 08.00 pm (local time) ending the trip which started this morning at 09.30 am at PalaTrento and that lasted almost nine hours. Indeed, the yellow-blues arrived in Izmir where they’ll play the fourth turn of the Poll E of 2018 CEV Champions League at l’Atatürk Sports Hall on Thursday night. They’ll fight to gain another positive result that could keep the race to first place open. The first contact with the playing field that will host the match on 1st February at 05.00 pm (Video live streaming on Fox Sports, Radio Dolomiti e www.laola1.tv) will be on Wednesday evening for the traditional training of the day before the match while in the morning the yellow-blues will have a training session in the weight room at the club of Arkas Izmir. For Trentino Volley the fourth away match ever in Turkey is in progress, a place where the team had won just once – in the only previous in Izmir. The 6th of November 2013 in the white-blue field Trentino won for 3-0 the challenge valid for the first phase of CEV Champions League; the first Turkish spectacular match date back to the 15th of November 2004 when Itas Diatec Trentino played in Ankara the qualifying heats’ second round of the Coppa CEV, loosing for 1-3 and for that reason was eliminated from the competition, whereas the last one date back to the 1st of April 2017 (defeated at the tie break in Fenerbahce’s field that was anyway valid for the qualification in the CEV Cup Final). Lorenzetti brought with him all the thirteen players; this means also Daniele De Pandis who should start again to train in group, going on with the last phase of his recovery.
