Trento, March 15th 2017

For the third year in a row, Trentino Volley will be among the best four teams in an European competition, this case the 2017 CEV Cup. After getting the access to the semifinal in the 2015 edition and in the 2016 CEV Champions League, the yellow-blue team proved once again the greatness, eliminating Piacenza in the italian derby of the quarters of final, and this way achieving the access to the second to last turn of the continental event.
Two weeks after the victory at PalaBanca, Lorenzetti’s team proved to be superior to Lpr at PalaTrento too, winning 3-1. In the first two sets, Giannelli and his teammates gave few opportunities to the opponents, thanks to a great performance in all the fundamentals and to the efficiency in the blocks and in the service.
Reached the qualification, the second lines found space and were able to find a rhythm, defending the unbeatable PalaTrento (18th seasonal victory), thanks to the fourth set. Among the best players, Solé in the first part of the match (75% in first time and 3 blocks) and Burgsthaler in the second one. Burgsthaler, thanks to his 5 blocks, was awarded as the mvp.
In the double confront of the semifinal, scheduled on MArch 28th and April 2nd (the first one at PalaTrento and the second one away), Lanza and his teammates will confront the Fenerbahce Istabul from Turkey. These two teams have never confronted each other.
