On Saturday January 27th 2018 in PalaFlorio, Bari, Trentino Volley will take part in the Del Monte Coppa Final Four for the eleventh time, the sixteenth participation to the competition. Only during its debut season 2000/2001 and in the last season with coach Lattari (2006/2007) the club didn’t qualify to the final part of the tournament.
For three times Trentino Volley won: January 31st 2010 in Montecatini Terme, thanks to the 3-1 win on Cuneo; February 19th 2012 in PalaLottomatica in Rome against Lube, with a 3-2 victory and on December 31st 2012, again against Lube Civitanova with a 3-1. In three other occasions Trentino Volley was defeated in the final: Cuneo (2010/11), Modena (2014/15) and Civitanova (2016/2017). This year’s semi-finals against Perugia will be the third challenge in the last six editions of this competition, the second in semi-finals. The first match took place on December 26th 2012, during the quarterfinals in PalaTrento, won 3-1 by Itas Diatec Trentino, while the second one was in Bologna, January 10th 2015, won 3-2 after a double comeback (0-1, 1-2 and final 3-2). With Saturday’s match the two teams will have faced each other twenty-three times, eight of which during the last twelve months.
