Three block Diatec Trentino against Padova attack

The match report about Diatec Trentino-Kioene Padova (Friendly Match). For the test match against the team of Padua, Angelo Lorenzetti presents a Diatec Trentino with setter Giannelli, opposite Stokr, hitters Lanza and Antonov, middle blockers Daniele Mazzone and Van de Voorde, libero Colaci. Trainer Baldovin of Kioene Padova replies with setter Shaw, opposite Giannotti, Milan and Maar in area 4, middle blockers Averill and Volpato, libero Balaso. The beginning is balanced until they reach 6-6, then an ace of Giannelli and a mistake of Milan give the lead to Diatec Trentino (10-7), which is able to keep it thanks to a great and fluid side-out (13-10). A great block of Van de Voorde against the pipe of Maar increases the advantage (15-11), but thanks to Maar who blocks Stokr the team of Padua is able to close the gap (18-16). Then, an attack in the net of Mazzone and a pipe of Milan bring the teams to the tie (19-19). The point-to-point final (21-21, 23-23) is decided by an ace of Van de Voorde (25-23). Kioene replays in the second set offering a dynamic beginning (3-6), thanks to the offensive actions of Giannotti and some errors in Trentino’s court. Daniele Mazzone’s ace (choosing a powerful jumping service instead of the usual jump float) gets Diatec Trentino closer to 11-12 and then an error on the opposite of Padova leads to 13-13. In the central part of the court Trentino makes the difference: Antonov’s pipe and Daniele Mazzone’s block worth +2 (17-15), that becomes +4 in the final set (25-21), after Stokr and Lanza protected the score.
In the third set, Lorenzetti allows room also to Urnaut, Burgsthaler and Solé, in the court instead of Lanza, Mazzone and Van de Voorde, and it’s precisely the starting service of Tine to bring immediately the Yellow-blue to 8-2. The Team of Padua tries to make up (12-9) leaning on Giannotti but his quite homonymous Giannelli pushes away the adversary with an ace (15-11). Antonov brings the team to victory thanks to some heavy break point (20-14); the 25-22 that leads to 3-0 doesn’t arrive immediately because Kioene keeps staying strong until the end (from 24-19 to 24-22) before losing 25-22 thanks to Solé.
