Trentino Volley has found near Innsbruck the opposite-hitter that during season 2017/18 will be the substitute of the regular Luca Vettori; the sport club of via Trener concluded the agreements with the Austrian team, Hypo Tirol, for the transfer of Renee Teppan, the 23-year-old player from Tallin (Estonia). He’ll be the first Estonian player in the yellow-blue history: the team from Trento has chosen him for his important international experience (more than hundreds of matches with the National team and in the last two seasons he played as regular in Champions League and Coppa CEV) but also for his traits of great professional. Renee dedicates himself to training, he has an incredibly strong arm and a good elevation (he attacks from 335cm). Thanks to these traits he quickly had the possibility to play at high levels and to have a central role in a double historic success with his own National team: in 2016 the victory in European League and just a few weeks ago the Estonian National team won in third group of World League. Before winning two Austrian trophies with the team from Innsbruck, Renee had already taken part in the Italian SuperLega, playing for Altotevere San Giustino San Sepolcro. Teppan is going to wear number 12 shirt of Trentino Volley and before moving to Trento he’ll probably play in European Championship 2017 with the Estonian National team, included in Pool A with Poland, the hosting team, besides Finland and Serbia.
“I started playing volleyball as Trentino Volley was becoming increasingly competitive at international level thanks to a long and important series of victories; for this reason, you can imagine how I’m feeling to be part of this club that I’ve seen successful on numerous Champions League and Club World Championships – these the first words of Renee Teppan as yellow-blue player -. For a player that comes from a small country like Estonia, as in my case, this is a dream that comes true and these are not words of circumstance. I know I’ll play as second opposite-hitter, but the chance I have is too important and I must seize it with enthusiasm: I’ll train day by day to improve myself and to help my team and I’ll be at the disposal of the technical staff that will encourage me to grow from all points of view. I already know the Italian Championship very well; after the season I played in San Giustino I keep on following it via streaming by subscribing to Sportube. The level is really high, with the best coaches in the world; I can’t wait to begin, everything will be very exciting”.
“In the last few years, Teppan played at his best and in particular with the Estonian National team, thanks to the training with Coach Cretu too – explained Trentino Volley’s Coach Angelo Lorenzetti -. We’ve chosen him because we think he can give us important guarantees for a fundamental and useful role such as the opposite-hitter. He’s a complete player, with the right age, the right physical and technical means to take full advantage of this occasion”.
