Kedzierzyn-Kozle (Poland), December 20th 2017

The home team, Zaska Kedzierzyn-Kozle, wins the match at the top of Pool E of 2018 CEV Champions League. The defending champions of Poland confirmed their seasonal invincibility in their field, the Hala Azoty, surpassing tonight, at the tie break, Diatec Trentino, in the match of the second day of Main Phase; in doing so they gained the first position of the round ranking, being one point ahead of Trento. Now the yellow blues, that hadn't been losing a match for a month, are regretting not having gained the double advantage and not having met the expectations of winning that very hard match. At the end, the success didn't come because, after a 2-0 and 22-19 at the third set, Lanza and his team haven't been able to materialize their advantage and suffered the comeback of their opponents. Most of all thanks to a very well prepared Torres, the Poles won the third set and then dominated the field during the fourth and fifth set. The decrease of reception, the too many mistakes during the opponent attack and in the side-out phase have been crucial, but the gained point is still precious with a view of running till the first position. Trento obtained it thanks to a wonderful first half of the match, especially at blocks (14 of them scored) and to high percentages in the whole net front.
