The match at the apex of the POOL E of 2018 CEV Champions League is very painful for Trentino Diatec. As already happened in the first round, the Polish team Zaksa Kedzierzyn-Kozle won the match overcoming the yellow-blues and getting in first position. For this reason, with only a turn left, they stake a claim on the first final place in the round. Trentino Diatec was defeated for 2-3 as it happened on the 20th of December 2017 at the Hala Azoty; they regret the fact that they didn’t capitalize their advantage in the second set (21-20), in the third set (21-17) and in the fifth set (14-11) after winning the first set. The opponents must be commended for their constant perseverance, they made a good use of the service in the middle parts and of the block in the tie break. Even if Trentino Diatec lost the first place in the classification they can still breathe a sigh of relief because the Playoffs 12’s qualification is guaranteed by the certainty that, at worst, they will mathematically be within the three best teams of the Main Phase and this guarantees the passage to the final board of the tournament.
