The match report. For the official debut of the season in front of the PalaTrento, Angelo Lorenzetti keeps Kovacevic at rest as a precaution and puts Hoag in starting six at his place; the other team members are Giannelli as setter, Lanza as spiker, Eder and Zingel as middle blocker, De Pandis libero. Andrea Giani, new coach of Milano, answers with Sbertoli as setter, Abdel-Aziz as opposite, Klinkenberg and Schott as spikers, Piano and Averill as middle blockers, Fanuli as libero. The start of Diatec Trentino is shy (2-4, 5-7), also because the opponents throw immediately every ball with Abdel-Aziz. Vettori tries to shake up his teammates immediately beginning the match in attack, but then it’s right his error to give the full advantage to Milano (8-12). Lorenzetti stops the game and replaces Zingel with Kozamernik for the service and Trento reacts (13-15), but to see the teams shoulder-to-shoulder we had to wait the 18-19 because of an out attack of the Dutch opposite. Abdel-Aziz redeems himself with an ace (18-21) which throws the doors wide open to the Revivre for the victory in the first partial, that comes with the 22-25.
Diatec Trentino reacts during the opening of the second set, by making the most of the streak of the Captain (4-2) and then the one of Vettori (10-7). Milano doesn’t give up and with the usual Abdel-Aziz gets back on track (11-10), before letting the house owners score some points  because of some errors (15-11). Then Zingel lowers the slide gate (17-12) so Trento is able to manage with more calm the significant advantage built in the first parte of the fraction (20-17), running rampant again in the final (23-18 and then 25-20).
Revivre breaks apart in the first part of the third period and lets the house owners be in the lead again, who take advantage of it during the court change (5-3, 9-6). Diatec Trentino earns certainties and becomes more chill, showing Zingel and Giannelli (counterattack and ace for the 15-9). During the most difficult moment of the match, the Milanese starts again; great merit goes to Abdel-Aziz service, who with aces and easy provoked structures, catches up the score again almost by himself (16-16). The overtaking take place with a sensational defense, point of the Dutch himself and with a wall of Piano over the new entry Kozamernik (inside for Zingel) with a 17-19. Lorenzetti stops the game but in the resumption the guests prevail again with Sbertoli and Averill (19-22 and 19-24), closing with a 20-15 and scoring the first point in the league table.
With its back against the wall, the home team plays a good game at the beginning of the fourth set, trying immediately an overcoming (4-1, 10-5) by a more convinced attack and a service which succeed in shaking the opponent reception system. Once again, the yellow-blues manage to take advantage (14-19, 18-13 good Lanza and Hoag), but this time they’re more prudent in managing the margins (21-15) and taking the fight at the tie break playing well in the phase of ball change (23-18 and then 25-19).
The fifth set is fought point to point (5-5, 7-7) until the new entry Galassi blocks Eder (7-9). This is the decisive point, because after that Trento can’t menage to prevail (9-11, 11-13, 13-15). Abdel-Aziz closes with an attack.
