After ending the Final Four of Del Monte® SueperCup 2017 arriving at the 4th place and collecting many useful advices to be used at work in the gym, is now time for Trentino Volley to go on and concentrate on the regular session of UnipolSai Superleague 2017/2018, that will start next weekend.
On Sunday the 15th October at 6.00pm there will be in PalaTrento the debut of the championship, with the match against Revivre Milano. On that day the new Mr Angelo Lorenzetti's shortlist is coming back to the field in front of the public, once again, after 5 months. The last official appointment of the team, indeed, was on May the 4th 2017 for the match 2 of the Pennant final against Cucine Lube Civitanova, a team that did great things during the tie break. On that occasion the player Lanza and his team had to face the only defeat on the home court of the whole season, after winning twenty two matches consecutively. Being confident again would be really important for our players, in two different ways: the tournament would get started off on the right foot and Trentino Volley could win the 500th official match of its almost 20 years of history. The actual evaluations shows 499 won matches, played during 717 competitions (70%), 259 of which happened in PalaTrento and 240 on away games. The debut of the championship in PalaTrento against a team from Milano is nothing new for Trentino Volley: the first match of the season 2003/2004, indeed, was played against a team from the same city, Asystel, a different club than the current Revivre. It is a very good memory since that day, October the 26th 2002, our team won its first debut match, with a 3-1. In the previous two seasons the debut matches had always been a defeat.
