Trento, January 4th 2017
Diatec Trentino confirms at the start of 2018 its positive tradition versus Padova. Also during last championship, when the two teams were really closer to each other in ranking compared to their past, the yellow-blues has in fact ruled another time, achieving the eighteenth victory in a row versus the team from Veneto. The attack attempted to PalaTrento by Kione of the formers players Nelli and Polo has so failed against the block and service of the hosting team, who were very good at winning the match in only three sets despite the new absence of Kovacevic (who stopped due to abdominal pain) and the not perfect conditions of Giannelli (who had flu) and Hoag (back pain). The 3.500 spectators didn’t actually notice the physical difficulties of their heroes, because Simone himself was really good at setting with the right clarity of mind his team at 60% in attack, with the peaks of Eder (80%) and Hoag himself (56%, best scorer with 16 points). Trying to face this good performances, Padova only managed to react in the second set, but still wasting an encouraging advantage (0-7, 13-16 and 18-21) against the services of the Brazilian middle-blocker (rightly awarded as mvp at the end of the match also thanks to his 3 realized blocks) and a great reaction of pride of the yellow-blues. After that set, Diatec Trentino had an easy life towards its first seasonal 3-0 in SuperLega. The eighth victory in a row in SuperLega allows Diatec Trentino to momentarily rise to the first place in ranking thanks to contemporary defeat in four set of Verona in Perugia, which has still to recover a match.
Here following the statistics of the fifteenth match of 2017/2018 SuperLega UnipolSai.
