Bari, 24th January 2018
Diatec Trentino makes an amazing debut in its stay in Bari by gaining three points at stake during the 17th day of SuperLega UnipolSai. In the week that brings to the Final Four of Del Monte Coppa Italia 2018, the yellow-blue team started to become familiar with PalaFlorio arena (Puglia) by winning on the ground of BCC Castellana Grotte in the match that had to be played last 10th January. The victory allows Lorenzetti’s team to confirm their newly gained fourth position in the rankings without having to wait for the result of the match that Verona will play against Latina on Thursday night. Eder and his teammates were able to make the most out of a difficult match which up to 19-22 of the third set could have take a turn for the worst. After loosing the first set and winning the second one fighting point-to-point, the yellow-blues managed to change gear during one of the most critical moments by recovering the efficacy of their service and the incisiveness during the phase of break point. Kovacevic’s exponential growth in attack (with 25 point, 51% at net, 4 blocks and 2 aces; MVP) combined with Giannelli’s help and Hoag’s positive entry, allowed Diatec Trentino to win that partial and than to become absolute masters of the game during the following one.
