Champions League, Cucine Lube wins at the tie-break at BLM Group Arena

Juantorena spikes againt Three Diatec Trentino block (ph. Trabalza)

The dream of disputing a European Final for the fourth year in a row, after the ones played in CEV Cup (2015 and 2017) and Champions League (2016), vanishes for Trentino Diatec after the second set of the return match of Play Offs 6. Despite a good performance, especially in the second set, the yellow-blues had in fact to give up in front of the World Champions of Cucine Lube Civitanova, which were able to immediately conquer the two sets that they need to achieve the qualification (playing an almost perfect volleyball) and then even to stand against the come-back attempt of the yellow-blues, conquering an important 3-2 victory (irrelevant).

After still having ended in a good way its adventure in 2018 CEV Champions League, Lorenzetti’s team will have the chance to live another knock-off match already on Sunday, which will be match 4 of Championship Play Offs semi-finals versus Sir Safety Conad Perugia, after the ten international matches played during the season. In today’s match Trentino Volley’s coach could also verify the physical shape of Vettori (who seemed to get better day by day and scored 11 points with 55%) and Hoag, who ended the match as best scorer with 20 points and 73% in the net area, with 2 blocks and 2 aces, showing to being able to play in the starting six.

Below the scoreboard of the return match of Play Offs 6 of 2018 CEV Volleyball Champions League played tonight at BLM Group Arena of Trento.
