On the court in Bari for the seventh round of SuperLega Credem Banca

The seventh round of regular season of SuperLega Credem Banca 2018/19 will be entirely played on Sunday. For Itas Trentino it is already time for an away match: after nine months, the team will return to the PalaFlorio of Bari (where the Final Four of Coppa Italia 2018 have taken place), to face BCC Castellana Grotte: match report live on Radio Dolomiti and on streaming on Lega Volley Channel on www.elevensports.it/superlega.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO The team will take one of the longest trips of the championship, in order to continue their path and achieve success even far away from the BLM Group Arena, trying to close the gap with the top ranked Perugia and Modena, which will face each other on the same day.
“We are about to get on the court, after a week full of activities, matches, travelling and training - explained the coach Angelo Lorenzetti at the match presentation – we want to win because right now it is very important to keep moving up through the ranking regularly; therefore, I ask the team to be very careful. Castellana Grotte was never favored in this round, in which it has taken part in just one home match of the first five matches played until now; it gained a point in the only match played in Bari against Modena. All elements to take into consideration to reach this match with the right attitude.”
Trentino Volley will reach Puglia today in the evening, after a trip that will start by bus at lunchtime and continue with a flight from Bologna to Bari. For the seventh match of regular season the staff can count on all thirteen players of the roster.
It is going to be the 722nd official match for Itas Trentino, the 463rd of regular season, during which the team will try and win for 254th time in an away match.
THE OPPONENTS On Sunday BCC Castellana Grotte will play for the second time in front of its audience. Because of the postponement of the home match against Verona on 5th December (originally set on 1st November), the team from Puglia has taken part in four away contests until now for a total of five played in SuperLega Credem Banca 2018/19. In the only one played at the PalaFlorio, and moreover with the team entrusted to Paolo Tofoli (former volleyball player, who has played as setter for Trentino Volley between 2001 and 2005 for a total of 120 presences and 2016 points), it managed to take Modena to the tie-break, taking from the opponents the only point they have lost until now in regular season. Despite being at the bottom of the ranking, Castellana Grotte is a worthy opponent, as it has been proved also with the other four matches during which, even if away, it always managed to win a set (in Vibo Valentia, in Padua, in Busto Arisizio and in Ravenna, where it played last Wednesday). In its roster, completely renewed compared to the last season, the players of high-profile are the setter Falaschi (back in Italy after a long-time experience in Poland), the Brazilian opposite spiker Renan Buiatti (ninth striker of the tournament with 94 points), the Iranian spiker Mirzajanpourmoziraji and the Australian middle-blocker Zingel, arrived in Puglia right after a season spent in Trento (48 presences, 202 points). Among the many new players that play in the Italian championship for the first time, the polish outside hitter Wlodarczyk (always in starting six) together with his subs Studzinski (Brazilian) and Kruzhkov (Russian) deserve to be recommended.
PREVIOUS MATCHES Sunday’s match in Puglia will be the seventh competition between Trentino Volley and Castellana Grotte. The report data are in favor of Itas Trentino, who gave away only three sets to the rivals: one lost during the match in Puglia dating back to the 16th of January 2011 (won 3-1), one obtained from BCC of the 28th of October 2017 at the BLM Group Arena and one from the very last match, played at PalaFlorio on the 24th of January. Itas Trentino won all the other previous matches for 3-0: on the 24th of October 2010 at the BLM Group Arena, on the 25th of November 2012 at PalaGrotte in Castellana Grotte and on the 17th of February 2013 once again in Trentino.
REFEREES The match will be supervised by Bruno Frapiccini (from Ancona, in Serie A from 2002) and Marco Turtù (from Ascoli Piceno – in Serie A from 2005), who is at his first seasonal match and at his very first match with Trentino Volley. While this will be the fourth match of regular season 2018/19 for Frapiccini, who last arbitrated a match with Itas Trentino against a team from Puglia: 22nd of February 2017 at PalaTrento, won 3-0 against Molfetta.
