Trentino Itas-Hypo Tirol AlpenVolleys Haching 3-0, the match report

Report of the match. Trentino Itas starts on the field with Giannelli as setter, Vettori in the opposite role, Russell and Kovacevic as spikers, Lisinac and Candellaro as middle-blockers, Grebennikov in the libero role. Hypo Tirol AlpenVolleys Haching fields Gelinski as setter, Klets in the opposite role, Halaba and De Leon as spikers, Frances and Duarte Souza as middle-blockers, Ringseis as libero. The World Champions start the match with great enthusiasm: yellow-blues immediately gets ahead with their blocks and counterattacks (6-3, 8-4) and their advantage keeps getting larger. Haching struggles in being focused in the net area whereas the host team keeps striking in the middle (13-8, 16-10) and easily wind the first set (18-12, 21-14, 25-16).
Haching tries to come back at the start of the second set getting to 2-5 but Trentino Itas just needs one minute to fill the gap (5-5) with Lisinac and to get ahead (9-8). In the central part of the set both the teams fight point-to-point but then the host get to +2 (15-17) making the most of a mistake of Lisinac). Lorenzetti asks for a time-out and his boys immediately mend the tear at the resumption of the game (17-17) and then conquer a double advantage with Russell (21-19). Hypo Tirol gets disunited, stumbles and gives up (25-19 with two aces in a row of Vettori).
The point-to-point battle restarts in the third set: Haching becomes more effective in attack and service phase (6-5, 9-10). Kovacevic is really effective in his attacks and Giannelli is on fire at service: Trentino Itas overcomes his opponents with a 4-0 break (from 11-12 to 15-12) and keep their advantage also thanks to Van Garderen, who entered the field in change of Russell (20-17 and 22-18) which allows his team to close the third set: 25-21 and 3-0 with a decisive block of the freshly-entered Nelli.
