"Well begun is half won“: Itas Trentino in the schools with Di Leo sponsor

On Tuesday Itas players will be in the schools of Trento. In the morning they will be at Arcivescovile of Trento (8.30 am) and then at the school of Madonna Bianca (10.30 am) as testimonials of the food education project “Well begun is half won”, which has been carried out by the bakery Di Leo – it has been Itas official sponsor for two seasons by now.
This initiative is now at its ninth edition but it was started firstly involving the regions of Puglia and Basilicata (Di Leo Pietro Spa has its headquarter in Matera), and in these days it will be in Trentino aiming at raising awareness among young people about the importance of breakfast and of sport. These are the topics that Itas players are going to further together with a nutritionist, supported by creative and funny slides.
“Child obesity is an allarming phenomenon – explains Pietro di Leo, chief of Di Leo Pietro SPA - , which has to be tackled beginning from the school age. Food education, linked to sport, is one of the pillars of the health education: learning good habits when eating, already as a child, is fundamental in order to lay the fundaments of a health future lifestyle, pointed at physical, mental and social health. We think it’s imperative stimulating new generations towards more awareness about the importance of a health and balanced diet, beginning from the most important meal of the day, namely breakfast.”
