Itas Trentino-Kioene Padova 3-0, the match report

The starting six chosen by Lorenzetti are: Giannelli as setter, Vettori as opposite, Russel and Kovacevic as spikers, Codarin and Candellaro in the middle and Grebennikos as libero. Kioene Padua replies with Travica as setter, Torres as opposite, Louati and Barnes as spikers, Volpato and Polo in the middle, Danani La Fuente as libero. The guests have the best impact on the match, which begins after President Mosna together with the President of the Province Fugatti and Giannelli delivered the 2019 CEV Cup to the public of the BLM Group Arena. The guests with the services of Barnes (two consecutive aces) go ahead 4-7, before being reached at 10-10 by an excellent block of Giannelli.
Kioene plays without fear and finds anther advantage (14-16), by exploiting its Canadian spiker. Trento reacts again with the blocks of Russel and Codarin and with the Vettori’s attacks (18-16) but the guests reply until 19-19. To win the first set Trento has to speed up (23-20). In the end, an Uros’ ace closes the set (25-21).
Itas Trentino also started really well in the second set. Russell and Candellaro immediately let the team take speed (4-1 and 8-3); Padua tries slowly to react (11-9). So Trento starts again with Kovacevic (14-10), but Kioene responds with Torres and Volpato (16-15). The final part of the set is therefore fought (18-17), before the blocks of Candellaro on Barnes and of Uros on Torres do not widen the gap again (22-18); but Trento menage to reach the 2-0 (25-20).
The third set keeps a balance until 6-6, then Trento react in several occasions (9-6, 11-8, 14-11). However, in all cases Padua has the strength to react (12-10, 16-15), and then on 22-19, going up to 22-22 with Torres. The time-out of Lorenzetti is important; at the restart of the game a break by Kovacevic offers two of the final point (24-22): the second is scored by Russell (25-23).
