2018/19 Trentino Volley season is now over with two records

Season 2018/19, which ended on Thursday after match 4 of semi-finals of Play Off Scudetto in Civitanova Marche, brought two absolute statistical records for Trentino Volley’s history, which made itself even more important beyond the two obtained trophies (World Club Championship and CEV Cup).
The nineteenth year of activity saw in fact the Club obtaining the greatest number of 3-0 victories of its history: they’re 17, the last of which dated back to April 7th after match 3 of the quarter-finals versus Padova. The previous record was referred to seasons 2010/11 (the one of the triplete) and 2011/12 (the one of the third World Club Championship) with sixteen 3-0 home victories.
The second record is about the lack of defeats on international fields; Angelo Lorenzetti’s team has in fact remained undefeated outside Italian boarders with fifteen clean sheets, thanks to the five victories in five matches played in Poland during World Club Championship 2018 and to the ten victories in ten matches played in 2019 CEV Cup.
The yellow-blue Club ended its path without international defeats in season 2008/19, characterised by its Champions League debut (victory in Prague), but “only” twelve victories came because only one competition was played. The statistics of the current season are therefore even more significative because a greatest number of matches and competition was played. Lastly, season 2018/19 is the third “most busy” one of Trentino Volley’s history (together with seasons 2010/11 and 2011/12); only in seasons 2009/10 and 2016/17 the Club played a bigger number of matches (56).
