Grebennikov: “This Itas Trentino is a wonderful team and has a great future ahead”

Jenia Grebennikov took less than a season to win the fans over at the BLM Group Arena with his spectacular defenses and his always precise receptions. Another demonstration, on Tuesday evening in Piazza Pasi in Trento for the toast between the fans and the team; the French libero was one of the most requested for selfies and autographs or even for just a short chat with those who constantly supported him from the bleachers during the “regular season”.
“For me Trento has been a safe bet – said Grebennikov at Trentino Volley Tv - . I came from a difficult season in Civitanova, but here I immediately felt comfortable also thanks to a group of players, young and motivated, that worked in order to always give their best. We showed everyone that we’re also a good team, because not many would have predicted at the eve our second final place in the ranking of regular season of SuperLega. Even more so we are very proud of everything we’ve done, because we played a good volleyball, we entertained our audience and kept the name of this Society up, as well as winning two important trophies. We still are disappointed because we didn’t go forward in the Play Off but we don’t have to have regrets: we gave everything we had”.
“The World Club Cup has for sure been the best moment of my first season here in Trento but also the return final of 2019 CEV Cup in Turkey in the arena of Galatasaray still is a special moment for me – said Jenia - . And how can I forget, the very first match won 3-0 in Perugia in the Supercoppa semifinal, after having done only a couple of trainings together and we just met each other? Now I will benefit from a three week break, a break period I didn’t have in the last ten years, I will give a break to my body as well. I will be back to training with the French National Team only on the 21st May to prepare the summer, which is full of important appointments. I will see you again in October, hoping I can still have the same players because this team has a great future ahead”.
