Debut in Cagliari with the National Team for Cavuto

The 3-1 victory obtained by the Italian National Team in the friendly match of Tuesday night in Cagliari versus the Japanese one will remain an unforgettable memory in the young but already promising career of Oreste Cavuto. The spiker from Abruzzo, who has grown in the Youth Team of Trentino Volley, made his debut with the kit of his National Team on in this occasion, after having worn the one of the Junior National Team for long time.
Coach Gianlorenzo Blengini fielded him starting from the first set for a short entrance and then sent him on the field again in the third set in exchange for the former yellow-blue player Antonov; Cavuto scored four points with three winning strikes and an ace. The relationship with the Italian National Team’s kit is already very important for Oreste, who won the Bronze Medal in occasion of World Cup Under 23 in 2015 and the Gold one during Mediterranean Games 2018.
It has been an exciting evening and the victory was the best possible end – he admitted - . We worked hard on some aspects and we must be able to show what we learnt even when we’re under pressure. This has surely been an important experience towards the continuation of the season”.
After Cavuto’s debut the number of players grown in Trentino Volley’s Youth Team who have played with the Italian National Team rises to seven: Filippo Lanza, Michele Fedrizzi, Simone Giannelli, Gabriele Nelli, Tiziano Mazzone and Alberto Polo were the ones who came before Cavuto. Andrea Bari, Emanuele Birarelli, Massimo Colaci and Dore Della Lunga too made their debut with the Italian National Team after having played with Trentino Volley’s kit on.
