Grebennikov: “In Trento I have learned to be a leader and the importance of the team”

Since last week Jenia Grebennikov has restarted training with the French National in Tours. With the Blues‘ t-shirt on, on Monday night the Itas libero has played in a friendly competition in Team A and B, that was organized on occasion of the end of Henno’s career.
“Hubert is a very relevant person of our volleyball and he has guided me in relations with the behaviour he has always have on court and in life - Jenia explained to the transalpine press - . His reception technique has always been particular but at the same time very effective; he is an example for all of us”.
Later, the player talked about the last season, his first one in Trento. “My first year with Trentino Volley has been a very positive experience - he explained. To prove it, there are the victories of the Club World Cup and the CEV Cup, which is also my first continental title with a club. Everyone thinks that this title is less important than the others, but it hasn’t been easy to win it. The only regret has been the result of the Italian championship; after confirming our second position in the rank during the regular season, we haven’t been able to win the match against Civitanova in the semifinal. Apart from that, it has been a very positive experience. In Trento I’ve learned how to be a leader. I’ve tried to reduce my mistakes and to improve more and more. It hasn’t been easy, but the atmosphere has always been good and I’ve understood how important the team spirit is”.
This weekend he will debut in VNL 2019 in Novi Sad and will face Russia, Serbia and Japan.
