Retrospective: nineteen seasons of gialloblù jersey numbers

From Ushakov's 1 to Uros Kovacevic's 93, passing through Giannelli's 9 or Birarelli's 3, which was the number worn ever so many times by the same player. The nineteen seasons already in the archives of Trentino Volley conceal stories and statistics of all kinds; the officialization of the jersey numbers for the upcoming season offers the opportunity to dedicate a separate chapter to this topic, reliving, through the uniforms of the past, curiosities and special anecdotes.
It turns out that the 9 is the only number that has always been on the roster list during each season, along with it, the jersey that has changed owner most often (twelve times) was the one with the number 12 on its shoulders: the first volleyballer to wear it was Rabezzana in the 2002/03 championship but the fans then saw it on the shoulders of Sanguanini, Cuminetti, Mlyakov, Leonardi, Corsini, Djuric, Szabò, Mazzone T., Van de Voorde, Teppan and will see it again from October 20 on the shoulders of the Greek opposite hitter Mitar Đurić, who has a particular preference for those two figures. The jersey that has been subject to the least changes of owner was number 16, worn first by Nuzzo, in 2003/04, then for eight consecutive years by Andrea Bari and subsequently by Eder. But during this summer Sosa Sierra asked to take it back "out of the closet". Finally, the jersey that characterized a position more than any other was number 3, almost always the prerogative of a middle hitter: Savani, Hoag and Van Garderen are the exceptions, but number 3 jersey was very often worn by players of area 3, for instance the first captain Lavorato, Hall, Hübner, Birarelli and Burgsthaler.
Numbers 20 and 93 have so far had only one owner: respectively Lisinac and Kovacevic, but this is obviously affected by the fact that only from the 2018/19 season the rules have changed radically, allowing teams to enter numbers higher than 18.
