Kioene-Itas Trentino 3-0. Report of the test match

For the seasonal debut Angelo Lorenzetti can count on few players of the new roster; seven players are involved with the national teams and the starting six presents several new faces. Daldello as setter, Vettori as opposite, Sosa Sierra and Parodi as spikers, Codarin and Simoni in the middle, De Angelis as Libero. Padua answers with Travica as setter, Hernandez as opposite, Randazzo and Bottolo in area 4, Polo and Volpato in the middle, Bassanello as libero. Kioene Padova is ahead, they immediately try to make the difference with Randazzo and Hernandez (5-8). Trento does not get perturbed and with Vettori and Sosa Sierra performs a come back (10-10). Kioene tries to reach the opponents (19-17), a block of Sosa Sierra hold off the yellow-blue (21-19) until Hernandez and an error of Vettori turn the score around (21-22). The opposite, ex Siena, realizes the ace that scores +2 points (21-23); Itas Trentino arrives up to 24-24 cancelling two set balls and getting the same amount before falling on 26-28 due to Hernandez. Later, Hernandez also starts better in the second set (6-9), taking advantages of the Polo’s blocks. Lorenzetti changes Djuric with Vettori on 9-12, but the yellow-blue team is unable to recover, also because Padova does not lose quality in the side-out phase (12-15, 16-19). In the final (21-25) Volpato and Randazzo are in the spotlight.
