Fenerbahce HDI Sigorta-Trentino Itas 1-3, the match report

The report of the match. The Trentino Itas recovered Vettori and Russell, lined up right from the first exchange with Giannelli in place 4, Cebulj in place 4, Candellaro and Lisinac in the middle and Grebennikov with free role. The Fenerbahce responds with Kiyak on dribbling, Ter Maat opposite, Hidalgo Oliva and Unver crusher, Batur and Karasu in the middle, Karatas free. The Gialloblù start is weak: the hosts gained a couple of break points of advantage (1-3, 5-7 and then 7-10), because Trento failed at net and service. On 5-7, moreover, Candellaro had to leave the field for a problem with his right hand; in his place came Codarin, blocking off Hidalgo Oliva for 11-13. The Fenerbahce restarted with Ter Maat and Batur (13-17), forcing Lorenzetti to impose a time out. The situation did not improve, on the contrary the Turks won the first set, already on 17-25.
The Trentino Itas tried to improve in the second set (3-0, 7-2), throwing every ball from nine meters and at net with Vettori and Cebulj. Fenerbahce struggled to keep pace with their opponents: Lisinac and Russell sink the shot (10-5, 14-9), before making a couple of mistakes that brought them back under the Turks (14-11, Lorenzetti time out). On the second half, the Turkish came down to minus one (17-16), before suffering another heavy break signed mainly by Vettori (ace and two attacks for 21-17). The lead this time is reassuring and a blaze at the serving phase of Ter Maat (24-22) is not enough to jeopardize it: 25-22 and one set each right on a mistake at the service by the Dutch opposite.
The guests started well also in the third set, hoisted on 3-1 and then on 6-4 by Vettori and Cebulj; the advantage lasted however little, because the Turks quickly found the draw (7-7) and then had the strength to invert the score (from 12-10 to 12-14), taking advantage of two consecutive errors by Lisinac. The time out called by our team doesn't have immediate effects (14-17), but later this set Giannelli and his teammates come back in vogue with Russell and the same Serbian middle-blocker (22-22). The final rush was exciting, Trentino Itas cancelled two set balls to the opponents (25-25) and then capitalized with Russell the third one they had at their disposal (29-27), after Lisinac had reversed the trend thanks to his break phase. Giannelli and his teammates started the fourth set well and eagerly as well (4-1); the lead of our team grew progressively, also thanks to Cebulj (10-4, 15-10). Fenerbahce risked everything at the service (17-16); Trentino sniffed out the danger and started again with Lisinac (20-17), closing already on 25-20 with a direct error by Hidalgo Oliva.
