#UnitiNellaPartitaPiùImportante! SuperLega players contribute to the battle vs Coronavirus

Although the Coronavirus emergency is forcing them to stay away from the volleyball court and the locker room, SuperLega players have decided to continue to stick together and "high-five" while staying in their homes. This morning the "#Uniti" (United) initiative was officially launched, a fundraiser organized by thirteen volleyball players from the top men's national volleyball league in favour of the CIVIL PROTECTION DEPARTMENT of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers to meet the urgent needs of the whole country.
Among the promoters of this operation there is also the Captain of Trentino Volley Simone Giannelli, but also Oreste Cavuto, Emanuele Birarelli just to mention faces known to local volleyball fans; the other volleyball players who are working to convey this message as quickly as possible are Michele Baranowicz, Daniele Lavia, Matteo Piano, Davide Saitta, Daniele Sottile, Dragan Travica, Ivan Zaytsev.

#UnitiNellaPartitaPiùImportante (#UnitedInTheMostImportantMatch)
How many times have we high-fived each other? How many times have we hugged? After a winning block, before an important action. After a time out, but also after a good defensive play.  How many times have we helped each other get up? A gesture that comes so naturally to us that sometimes we do it without even thinking about it. Now the #Coronavirus forbids this gesture. We must avoid it for our own safety. We must avoid all possible contact to prevent possible contagion. We love volleyball. We have the luck but also the responsibility to play it and represent it at the highest level. And we want, we feel the duty, to do everything we can to contribute actively to the battle that our entire country is fighting.
Because we want to exchange little gestures of love as soon as possible. Even now we virtually want to keep on high-fiving each other. Above all we want to reach out those who need most.
There are many institutions that need it right now. We have chosen to gather and make these resources available to the CIVIL PROTECTION DEPARTMENT of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which deals with the most important urgencies on a daily basis and works tirelessly for all of us.
We cannot play the most important game this time on the pitch. You can't follow it, you fans, fans, supporters... neither on TV nor at the stadium. This time to win the game we can only play it this way. Let’s do the best we can!
Let's help our champions, doctors, nurses, civil defence. Let's help those who fight everyday against this invisible enemy that threatens us. Let's win this game with them, and then we return to play ours. To exchange hugs and handshakes under the net and on the side-lines.
