Amarcord, Liberation Day often celebrated on the court for Trentino Volley

The annual Liberation Day has often been celebrated on the court by Trentino Volley in its previous nineteen seasons. On nine occasions it happened that our team played an official match on April 25th. All the previous ones are related to Play Off Scudetto matches and have given almost in equal measure joys and tears (four wins and five defeats). The common element has always been the fans; the overall total of the nine matches involving Trentino Volley on this day is 35,708 spectators (an average of 3,967 spectators per match).
The first occasion was in 2006, when the then Itas Diatec Trentino lost at home in just three sets versus Sisley in a historic match: it was the first ever Scudetto semi-final match ever hosted by PalaTrento. In the following years, circumstances like that became a pleasant habit, since always in the semi-finals there has been a 3-1 home win against Cuneo (in 2009, a score that guaranteed qualification for the Final), a 3-0 win versus Lube in 2010 and then also a 3-0 win at PalaTrento against Modena (2011), a 3-1 against Perugia (2015) and the defeats versus Modena itself (1-3 in Trento, in 2016) and Lube (0-3 in Marche, last year).
The date April 25th raffled twice the Scudetto: in 2013 (home victory over Piacenza 3-1 in game 1) and in 2017 (defeat in Civitanova in three sets game 1). Under two circumstances the Liberation Day coincided with the last match of the season: it happened in 2016 and 2019. Just 366 days ago, in fact, the Itas Trentino closed the 2018/19 season (memorable for the double international victory, World Cup for Clubs and CEV Cup) losing game 4 at the Eurosuole Forum.
