Russell: ‘’The match played the 8th March reminded me the atmosphere of the college…’’

The quarantine period at his home in Florida has ended for Aaron Russell. After returning in the USA more than two weeks ago, the Trentino Volley’s spiker can, now again, go outside, but in the meantime, he continued to exercise by following the instructions of the National team’s sports trainers. To the portal of the United States Federation, he narrated his last month in Trento before the departure.
‘’I stayed in Italy until the half of April, because I hoped that the championship could resume – revealed - . Until the definitive decision of the Federvolley I had no reason to move from Trento, a quiet town where I always felt good. Here, have been put in place restrictions to avoid the spread of the virus that me and my wife Kendall have scrupulously observed. During the first month of stop I kept practicing at home, well, more precisely on the terrace given that we couldn’t go out, and I made it through the platform Zoom with my teammates.’’
‘’The 8th of March we played the last official match in Civitanova, losing it only at the tie break and playing it in an arena behind closed doors that was completely empty
– continued Russell - . It has been an intensive match and in a certain sense also unusual; it reminded me the spirit of the matches that are played in the American college, where the teammates who are in the bleachers are your only supporters. The Olympics in Tokyo? The postponement of one year has been the right choice; it would have been a bad thing if they had permanently deleted them. Having so many more months to prepare them won’t be so bad.’’
