Amarcord, five years ago great volleyball at midday at PalaTrento: 3-0 vs Modena

May 10, 2015 - May 10, 2020: the yellow-blue calendar today reminds you of an unforgettable game even if the team has not won (at least on that day) a trophy. Just five years ago, on this date, PalaTrento was celebrating what is still today a unique event in the history of Trentino Volley: playing a home match at noon. In this circumstance the ENERGY T.I. Diatec Trentino surpassed Parmareggio Modena in three sets (set of 25-23, 25-23, 25-22) in game 3 of the Finale Play Off Scudetto. Three days later at PalaPanini the yellow-blue team completed the work, also winning the fourth challenge and therefore the fourth tricolor title in the history of the Club. The victory in game 3 therefore enabled to tip the balance towards the Trentino volley side, after the balance had reigned in the first two matches (3-2 for Trento in game 1, 1-3 for Modena in game 2). The third challenge was therefore inevitably a hope of success for both teams. The time of the game, midday precisely, made the appointment even more special. Originally scheduled for 6 pm, the match was brought forward by six hours because it coincided with the last Serie A1 regular season match of basketball between Aquila and Virtus Bologna, to be played at PalaTrento. given the impossibility of not being able to anticipate or postpone the basketball game and being unable to move the match, Trentino Volley then chose to play the third match of the series at 12 o'clock, so that at the end of the match there was the time necessary to set up PalaTrento to host a basketball match. The choice may have seemed risky, but instead proved to be a success from all points of view: sporty, organizational and above all as regards the public. The then PalaTrento recorded yet another "sold out" of that season (over 4,300 spectators), with the fans who managed to push their team towards a beautiful 3-0. In the field the difference was made by the spikers (Djuric 15 points, Kaziyski 12, Lanza 13), and the rising star Giannelli, who on that occasion played his first full game as a starter. The victory obtained in just ninety minutes of play also favored the yellow-blue logistic structure prepared for the occasion, allowing Aquila Basket to play at PalaTrento, ready for their match.
