Michieletto: "Euro Jr has been a great experience, but I can’t wait to be back on field"

The bitterness caused by the defeat at the final, after a perfect tournament until that moment (6 victories out of 6, all 3-0), has been partly mitigated by the prize for MVP of the European Juniores 2020, ended on Sunday night 1-3 for Italy against Russia, but  Alessandro Michieletto has no doubt: “I would immediately exchange my Mvp’s prize for the gold medal – said the day after, just arrived in Italy - ; personal recognitions give pleasure but there’s nothing better than team victories, even because we’ve been dreaming that goal for long and we had started to prepare it during the lockdown, when we still could not train all together and we used to do it at home or during conference calls. Obliviously we hoped a different end for the tournament, but we’ve to admit that Russia played better than us and the they deserved the victory; the final was a strange match, if we had won the third set, maybe now we would talk abut another result. The truth is that we have to accept the result and hold tight the experience that led us to the silver medal".
“I come back from Czech Republic with a important experience I collected both on field and with my temmates – said the young hitter spiker, son of a great player, who grew up in Trentino Volley Juniores team - . It has been encouraging having such a lot of responsibilities during the matches and discover how beautiful it is to play in such an attached team . As the opponent team scored the last point I begun thinking about training again with Trentino Volley, I don’t like losing and I want to go back to the gym, train and improve.  Before training again, I'll enjoy a couple of days of rest, in Piacenza I want to play back in my Itas Trentino”.
2020 Junior European Championships’s overall statistic reveals that Michieletto scored 88 times during 6 matches (69 attacks, 11 blocks, 8 ace), 53% in attack and 23% of perfect receptions.  These important numbers are a perfect starting point for his first season in SuperLega.
