SuperLega, the fourth round will be played on Sunday

SuperLega Credem Banca 2020/21 immediately back on the field for the fourth round of the regular season, which will be played on Sunday 11 October 2020. On this occasion, Itas Trentino will again play away from Trento, on the field of PalaBanca in Piacenza to face the Bluenergy Gas Sales. Kick-off set for 5 pm: live on RAI Sport + and Radio Dolomiti.
ITAS TRENTINO The giallo-blù team faces the second consecutive away match in the league with the need to redeem the double setback in three sets remedied in the last seven days and relaunch the odds in the table. The commitment on the field of the ambitious Piacenza does not seem the easiest, but the coach Angelo Lorenzetti does not hide. "In the last week we highlighted problems that we didn't think we had until the match against Verona - he explained, presenting the appointment - . Even more so, Sunday's match at PalaBanca must be tackled with the utmost determination and attention so as not to prolong the negative streak and to give signs of a reaction. We will find ourselves in front of a team like Piacenza that has a lot of qualities, especially in attack, and that has shown clear progress in the last few days. It will therefore be a very difficult match, in which perhaps the difference will be made by a few single episodes".
The giallo-blù coach will have to do without the spiker Michieletto (still in quarantine due to the Coronavirus positivity found earlier this week), but will have the other twelve players of the effective squad available, who trained regularly even today before leaving towards Emilia. On this occasion, Trentino Volley will hunt for its 594th victory in its history (in 853 official matches), the 284th away. In the regular season, the giallo-blù Club has won 159 of the 252 away games played so far.
THE OPPONENTS Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza awaits the visit of Itas Trentino in search of the first home victory of the season. The first phase of the Italian Cup (closed without success and for this reason causing Andrea Gardini to sit on the bench) and the only internal SuperLega commitment so far sustained (lost last Sunday with Perugia) did not give satisfaction to the public. Sunday, only 15% of the capacity of the PalaBanca can access. The six points that the Emilian team can boast in the standings are therefore the result of two away victories in four sets: in Ravenna in the opening round and in Cisterna on Wednesday evening. The new course entrusted to Lorenzo Bernardi, therefore, guaranteed the desired shock and was mainly due to Russell's performances (52 points in the first three matches) and the depth of the squad, which allowed the new coach to find effective setups (such as the alternation of Antonov to Grozer in the last match) and to play the match openly with Sir Safety Conad even without being able to count on the contribution of the titular setter Hierrezuelo (again available at the match in Lazio).
EXTREMELY FULL RANGE OF EX-GIALLOBù AND EX-PIACENTINI: NINE To offer further points of interest to a challenge that, in itself, already offers many, there will also be the very long line of “exes”: nine players, coaches, and members of staff. The most anticipated are obviously the most recent ones: for Davide Candellaro (81 appearances and 497 with Trentino Volley between 2018 and 2020), Aaron Russell (73 games and 987 points in the same period in the giallo-blù team) and Dick Kooy (last season in Emilia) it will be the first match against the Club whose jersey they wore until a few months ago. The list of former players also includes Oleg Antonov (83 appearances and 406 points between 2015 and 2017 with Trento), Alberto Polo (a couple of seasons and many titles in the giallo-blù youth sector, without ever making his debut in the first team), the coaches Angelo Lorenzetti (on the Piacenza bench between 2007 and 2012) and Lorenzo Bernardi (as a player 41 games and 492 with the team of his hometown between 2002 and 2004) and two docs from Piacenza as the Trentino athletic trainer Lorenzo Barbieri (trainer of the then Lpr in the 2016/17 season) and the physiotherapist Alessandro Russo (who held this role at PalaBanca between 2006 and 2017).
BACKGROUND The confrontation between Trento and Piacenza is a classic of Italian volleyball, returned last season after only one championship break (the 2018/19 in which the Emilian team had to deal with a restart from Serie A2). With the match on Sunday, fifty-seven will be the number of matches played between the two teams: the balance is favorable to Trentino Volley for 38-18, above all thanks to twenty-two victories in the last twenty-seven direct matches. The last one was played at PalaBanca just over eight months ago: 2 February 2020, giallo-blù success for 1-3 (partials of 25-23, 22-25, 16-25, 21-25) with Lisinac maker of 15 points. In Piacenza, Trentino Volley has often won, putting together fourteen wins out of twenty-six matches played overall; there was an unofficial test match played at the BLM Group Arena on 29 August which ended 3-1 (25-23, 25-17, 25-13, 22-25 - 13 points by Nimir).
THE REFEREES The match will be directed by Luca Sobrero (from Carcare - Savona, tenured since 1996 and international since 2004) and Ilaria Vagni (from Perugia - since 2003 and international since 2013), both in the second direction of the SuperLega season. The last precedent with Trentino Volley for Sobrero dates back to over a year and a half ago (25 April 2019 - Civitanova-Trento 3-0), while for Vagni the most recent crossing dates back to three weeks ago: 20 September 2020, Civitanova -Trento 3-2 Supercoppa (second leg semi-final).
RADIO, INTERNET AND TV The challenge will be a global media event, enjoying the simultaneous live broadcast on TV, radio, and the internet. It will be broadcast by RAI Sport +, a channel present both on the digital terrestrial platform (number 57 in HD, 58 in sd) and on the Sky satellite platform at number 227, with commentary entrusted to Maurizio Colantoni and Andrea Lucchetta; the images will also be broadcast on the internet in video-audio streaming through the RaiPlay application.
The direct and complete report on Radio Dolomiti, media partner of Trentino Volley, is expected, starting at 5 pm. All frequencies to listen to the regional network are available on the website www.radiodolomiti.com, space where it is also possible to listen to the radio commentary in streaming, by accessing the “On Air” section.
The full deferred match will be broadcast on TV on Monday 12 October at 9.30 pm, on RTTR, TV partner of Trentino Volley.
On the internet, point-to-point updates will be handled by the Lega Pallavolo Serie A website (www.legavolley.it) and by www.trentinovolley.it and will always be active on the giallo-blù Social Networks (www.trentinovolley.it/facebook, www.trentinovolley.it/instagram and www.trentinovolley.it/twitter).
