Yellow-blue roster even younger: only in 2015/16 and 2017/18 a lower average age

The summer market 2021 gave back to Trentino Volley a roster with many young faces, eight out of thirteen that composes it overall, but also a team even younger and very international. While waiting to see it live on 10 October for the first official match of the season (home match of SuperLega against Verona), the 2021/22 team of Itas Trentino proposes itself as one of the youngest but at the same time also one of the most expert regarding Champions League.
The group available to Angelo Lorenzetti and Francesco Petrella for the forthcoming season boasts an average age of 25,4 years; the third lowest ever in the twenty-two participations at the biggest national championship of volleyball by the yellow-blue Club. Only in the 2015/16 season (24,0) and 2017/18 season (25,2) the management from Trento had an even younger roster; a characteristic that could make the new Itas Trentino a team very hungry, brilliant, and moreover capable of endorsing a schedule full of appointments like the yellow-blue one (at least seventeen official matches until New Year’s Eve). The presence of four Under 23 (D’Heer, Lavia, Michieletto, and Sperotto) significantly affects the statistical data: a record number, registered only another time, right in the 2015/16 season.
In the yellow-blue roster, the possibility of having five “towers” should be also emphasized: many players have at least 203 centimetres of height: the trio D’Heer, Kaziyski, and Podrascanin (203 cm), and the couple Michieletto-Lisinac (205 cm); a circumstance that contributed to taking the average height of 197,8 centimetres, while counting on four athletes of 190 cm (De Angelis, Sbertoli, Sperotto, and Zenger).
At last, to notice that eleven out of thirteen players available to the technical staff have already played at least one edition of Champions League; only two (Albergati and Sbertoli) have never played one; also from this point of view, this is a small corporate record.
