Itas Trentino-Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza 3-1, the match report

The match report. Angelo Lorenzetti proposes the starting six of Itas Trentino with all three spikers: Michieletto and Kaziyski as spikers, Lavia as opposite spiker, Sbertoli as setter, Zenger libero, D’Heer and Lisinac as middle blockers, considering the recent news of Podrascanin’s unavailability (at home in quarantine due to a family member tested positive for Coronavirus). Piacenza responds with Brizard as setter, Lagumdzija as opposite spiker, Antonov and Rossard as spikers, Caneschi and Holt as middle blockers, Scanferla libero. The start of the hosts is very convincing: Lavia blocks Antonov and D’Heer scores a break point in the first half for the initial 4-1. Piacenza immediately reacts (6-5) with Lagumdzija, but another block, this time of Sbertoli, widens the gap (9-6), forcing Bernardi to interrupt the game. At the restart, an attack of Holt and a mistake of Lisinac give the tie, which lasts only a few seconds, because the Serbian scores two times, putting pressure even on Antonov who makes a mistake (13-9). On 18-11, Bernardi has already used all times out and rotates Russell with Rossard and Stern with Lagumdzija to find a reaction that doesn’t arrive, because D’Heer scores (20-12) and the change of field arrives quickly, already on 25-15 with Kaziyski.
In the second set, Gas Sales Bluenergy tries to react, getting out of the starting blocks better (2-4, 6-8), dragged by Lagumdzija. Itas Trentino gets irritated and makes many mistakes at serve. When also Lavia does an attack out (9-12), Lorenzetti is forced to call a time out. At the restart, Michieletto and Kaziyski make mistakes (10-15) and for Trento is dead of night. A cue of Alessandro (attack and floating service score three break points) makes the yellow-blue catch up (14-16), who restart to fight (19-21) and score thanks to a block of D’Heer on Lagumdzija (21-22). However, the comeback stops there because Kaziyski makes two mistakes at the net, ending the set on 21-25.
The script doesn’t change during the third one, with the guests immediately ahead (2-4 and 6-8), thanks to some yellow-blue mistakes. The Emilians also grant something, facilitating the recovery and the overtaking of the hosts (from 8-9 to 11-9 with Kaziyski at serve). In the central part, the match increases of level and it’s D’Heer (attack and blocking) to score for Trento (15-12), then a block of Michieletto on Rossard and an ace of Kaziyski (21-17) sign the 2-1, which arrives on 25-21 (serve error of the French player).
Gas Sales Bluenergy doesn’t give up and in the fourth set tries again to react (3-6), taking advantage of a few mistakes of Trento. The hosts quickly tie with Michieletto and Lisinac (9-9), making the game balanced (13-13) and then leading it with a counterattack of Kaziyski and an ace of Michieletto (16-14). Itas Trentino is on fire, becoming even more efficient at the net (20-17). Piacenza fights till the end (23-22), but then definitively raises the white flag on 25-23.
