Vero Volley Monza-Itas Trentino 1-3, the match report

Match report. The last-minute news for Itas Trentino was the recovery of Srecko Lisinac, who tested negative to Covid-19 this morning and was therefore available to Lorenzetti again. The coach immediately included him in a starting six that also included Sbertoli as setter, Lavia as opposite player, Kaziyski and Michieletto as hitters, Zenger as libero and Podrascanin as central player. Vero Volley had to do without Grozer again, so Orduna as setter, Davyskiba as opposite player, Katic and Dzavoronok as hitters, Galassi and Grozdanov as central players and Federici as libero. The start was very balanced, the teams made very few mistakes and took turns in leading the operations (4-3, 5-7, 10-9); Lavia (attack and ace) made it to 16-15, forcing Eccheli to take a time out. When the game resumed, the locals took the lead to 21-22 with a block by the newcomer Karyagin on Lavia. Lorenzetti interrupted the game but then Kaziyski committed a second line foul, giving the locals the +2 (21-23), which the Brianzoli hold on to until the end (23-25, Davyskiba's block on Kaziyski's possible tiebreaker).
After the change of court Itas Trentino changed its attitude and started to play a more convincing and ruthless game; in a few minutes Michieletto, Kaziyski and Lavia led the yellow-blue team to a big advantage (5-2, 9-5 and 11-5). Eccheli had already spent his two time-outs well before the second half of the set, without finding any appreciable solutions. Trento could then expand (16-8, 20-11) and quickly close the score to tie, taking advantage of Lavia at the net and the nine-metre line of Michieletto and Podrascanin, who quickly brought the score to 25-13. Itas Trentino started off strong in the third set as well, thanks to Podrascanin's blocks (6-2), but this time Monza quickly made up ground (8-8) taking advantage of the Trento's reception difficulties. Kaziyski and his teammates accelerated again (14-11), but Monza with Galassi came back (14-14). The decisive momentum in the match came from Lavia and the effectiveness at the net of Podrascanin and Lisinac (22-18), that guaranteed the 2-1, which came at 25-21 (service error by Dzavoronok). In the fourth set, the balance lasted only until 6-6, then the yellow-blue team extended the lead thanks to the quality of their game (8-6, 11-8 and 13-9), with Kaziyski's attacks and Lavia's abilities, well handled by Sbertoli. Monza believed in it until 18-16, then it had to leave space to the opponents (21-16), who with Matey and Michieletto closed the match on 25-20.
