SuperLega, on Sunday back on court at the BLM Group Arena for the 21st round

Credem Banca SuperLega on court this weekend for the 21st round of the regular season. Itas Trentino will play the first match of the day on Sunday, February 13th, hosting Gioiella Prisma Taranto at the BLM Group Arena in Trento. Kick-off scheduled for 3pm; live broadcast on Radio Dolomiti and live streaming on OTT Volleyball World Tv platform.
HERE ITAS TRENTINO The yellow-blue team is preparing to play its last home match of February (three consecutive away matches are scheduled afterwards: Cannes, Padova and Piacenza) with the goal of regaining the victory after three consecutive stops that are very different from each other. The team will try to do so without being able to count on the important contribution of its Serbian centre couple; Lisinac is struggling with a lower back pain, while Podrascanin suffered a minor muscle injury of the rectus abdominis on Thursday morning. For this reason, two centre pleyers from UniTrento Volley (Trentino Volley's junior team that plays in the Serie B championship) will play with the Itas Trentino on Sunday afternoon: Francesco Simoni, born in 1999, and Stefano Coser, born in 2001 - the latter already on the bench on Thursday evening. One of the two could find a place on the court if Angelo Lorenzetti decides not to confirm Cavuto at the centre of the net, a tactical solution adopted on Thursday evening during the Champions League. Captain Matey Kaziyski, on the other hand, will be available on a regular basis.
"We'll start with the spirit we showed in the last two sets of Thursday night's match against Perugia to try to get back on track and get back to winning ways - explained the Itas Trentino coach as he presented the match - . We have the character to do it, even in an emergency situation like the one we are facing. We will face Taranto, a team that will want to redeem the defeat in Vibo in the middle of the week, so we will have to be good to reach immediately the right pace of play for a match that will bring important points for the respective rankings".
This will be Trentino Volleyball's 31st official match of the current season, the 922nd in its history, the 425th in its own arena, in which it will be looking for its 643rd win overall (the 336th at the BLM Group Arena, where it has always scored in the league).
THE OPPONENTS The defeat of Wednesday night in Vibo Valentia in the replay of the 14th round has not compromised the race for salvation of Gioiella Prisma Taranto. Despite the defeat in four sets in Calabria, the team coached by Vincenzo Di Pinto continues to have a five-point margin on the same second-last in the class Tonno Callipo; an important result, which the Apulians have built up thanks to an excellent start to the second half of the season, in which so far they have won three of the six matches played and collected nine of the twenty points in the rankings. The last two came two weeks ago in Padua with a 3-2 win at the Kioene Arena thanks to a great performance by Marco Falaschi (mvp of the evening). The Tuscan director tested positive for Covid-19 on the eve of Wednesday night's match; so the Australian Dosanjh should once again find space as director, in diagonal with the young opposite player Stefani, Under-21 World Champion and Michieletto's national team mate. Joao Rafael and Randazzo are the certainties on the high ball, while in the centre Di Martino (second blocker of the tournament with 44 winning blocks), who plays with Alletti, is getting a lot of attention. An injury is forcing the libero Laurenzano to stay in the box in this phase of the championship, after a first part of absolute level, as his fifth position in the ranking of the receivers (weighted average) tells us. Should he not be in the match, Pochini will take his place.
PREVIOUS EVENTS The match between Prisma Taranto and Trentino Volley is back on stage this season almost twelve years after the last time. Between 2000 and 2010 the two clubs have faced each other fourteen times, exclusively in regular season matches of the then Serie A1 championship. The balance, which also takes into account the first round match of this championship (won 3-1 in Apulia by Itas Trentino on 24th November with Lavia as mvp and best scorer with 22 points) sees the yellow-blue team ahead 8-7, having won five of the seven most recent matches. The match has been played seven times at the BLM Group Arena, with five wins for the locals and two for the guests (always in the tie break: 21st December 2008 and 10th September 2006); the last home match of Trentino Volley dates back to 21st October 2009 (3-0 home win).
THE REFEREES The match will be directed by Rocco Brancati (from Città di Castello - Perugia, in Serie A since 2015) and Roberto Boris (from Pavia - in Serie A since 1997 and international since 2010), in their ninth and eleventh SuperLega appearances respectively. For both of them, their last encounter with the yellow-blue colours was a 0-3 defeat in Modena on 21st November 2021.
RADIO, INTERNET AND TV The match will be broadcast live by Radio Dolomiti, media partner of Trentino Volleyball. The frequencies to listen to the regional network can be consulted on the website www.radiodolomiti.com, where it will also be possible to follow the live commentary in streaming.
