Gas Sales Bluenergy Piacenza-Itas Trentino 1-3, match report

Match report. Lorenzetti is back with both Lavia and Podrascanin, who are lined up in the starting six respectively in diagonal with Sbertoli and Lisinac; Kaziyski and Michieletto in set 4 and Zenger libero. Piacenza, still without Lagumdzija, responds with Brizard at set, Stern opposite player, Russell and Recine at the sides, Cester and Holt in the middle, Scanferla libero. The home team has the best impact, taking advantage of two errors in the middle by the yellow-blue team to run immediately on 3-6. A few seconds later, Holt injures his ankle and has to leave the court (Caneschi takes his place); Trento takes advantage of this to get back on track (8-9) with Kaziyski's ace and then overtake thanks to two outs by Stern and a Kaziyski's pipe (12-11, time out Bernardi). Piacenza shows more efficiency in the break point phase and, after leading with Russell (17-18), increases its advantage with Recine (18-20). It's the decisive break, because then Gas Sales Bluenergy doesn't give anything to the opponents and closes the first set on 23-25 with an attack by Stern.
The yellow-blue team reaction materializes in the first moments of the second set, in which Kaziyski and Lavia immediately make the difference (3-1, 6-3 and 9-4) by hitting hard at the net and from the nine meter line. D'Heer is on court in place of Podrascanin, but it's always Matey who makes the difference and guarantees the +8 (13-5). Brizard, with two consecutive aces, tries to get his team back on track (14-8), but it's just a moment of disbandment, because then Itas Trentino doesn't concede anything and closes the set quickly, already on 25-15 with the last point scored by Cavuto.
Things don’t change at the beginning of the third period, with Trento going strong fast thanks to its captain, well supported by Lavia and Michieletto (4-2 and 8-4). The lead progressively increases (10-5, 14-7 and 18-16) and Piacenza only manages to raise its head in the final period, but it's too late because Lisinac defends the advantage with winning first times (22-15 and 25-17).
Trentino Itas continues to be strong in the fourth set, immediately well directed by Lorenzetti's team, also thanks to the many mistakes made by the hosts (6-3 and 9-4). In the central part of the period, Michieletto makes the difference with four consecutive aces that bring Trento to +11 (17-6). The match and the three points are safe; Itas Trentino takes just a few minutes to close the match, already on 25-14.
