Itas Trentino-Tonno Callipo Calabria 3-0, the match report

The match report. Itas Trentino shows itself to its public after eighteen days of waiting with a standard lineup: Sbertoli as setter, Lavia as opposite, Kaziyski and Michieletto as hitter spikers, Lisinac and Podrascanin as middle-blockers, Zenger as libero. Tonno Callipo Calabria responds with Saitta at the direction, Nishida at the opposite spiker, Fromm and Borges in position 4, Candellaro and Flavio Gualberto at the center, Rizzo libero. Until 5-5, the game is played point to point, with both teams very effective in the changeover phase, then Lavia and Michieletto's counter attacks guarantee the first real break in the game (8-5 and 10-6), forcing Baldovin, the guests' coach, to interrupt the game. At the restart, however, the Gialloblù team does not concede anything and, on the contrary, increases the advantage (12-7 and 14-8) thanks to two great blocks on Nishida, first by Daniele himself and then by Lisinac. The Calabrian coach takes action, inserting the ex-couple Partenio-Nelli for the director Saitta and the Japanese opposite spiker player; the newcomer shows to have a warm arm, signing the breaks that bring Vibo three points away (16-13). Trento doesn't give up and with Kaziyski immediately starts again (20-15), completing the work with Lisinac (block on Candellaro and counterattack for 23-16). The 1-0 comes on 25-17: counterattack by Michieletto.
The script doesn't change in the second half; Tonno Callipo Calabria manages to hold on until 4-4, then a counterattack by Lisinac and a block by Michieletto create the gap (7-4, time out Baldovin). After the requested break, the team is revived with Nishida and Borges, trying to get back in the opponent's wake (11-10), but it's only a moment, because then the home team starts again with Michieletto and Lisinac (ace for 14-10) and, subsequently, keeps the advantage constant (18-14) also thanks to the continuity guaranteed at the changeover by Podrascanin and Lisinac's attacks in the middle of the net. When the set seems to be already decided, Itas Trentino drops the intensity of its action and Vibo takes advantage of it; Fromm's serving bring the two teams back in close contact (20-19), forcing Lorenzetti to interrupt the game. The coach clears his mind and when the game resumes it's immediately break (23-20) with Lisinac at bat; the 2-0 is signed by an error of Saitta at bat (25-21).
In the third set the balance lasts until 8-8, then Itas Trentino, with Kaziyski on the serving (also a direct ace), gets into gear and for the opponents it's dark night (12-8 and 14-8) with Michieletto unleashed at the net. The last jolt is given by Nishida (15-12 and 17-15), then Alessandro and Kaziyski at the net give the final push towards the 3-0 final (21-17 and 25-20).
