SuperLega, Itas Trentino takes back the Slovenian Kozamernik as middle blocker

He arrived in Trento at the end of summer 2017, just over the twenties, for his first season of his career far away from Slovenia; he will be back in October as a grown up from any point of view: technically, physically and personally, thanks to the experience acquired by playing firstly in the Italian SuperLega and then in the Polish PlusLiga.
The 27-year-old Jan Kozamernik wears once again the Trentino Volley jersey and completed the central line of the yellow-blue shortlist, which can also count on one of the newest Italian Champions Martin Berger, Wout D’Heer and Marko Podrascanin. It’s time for his comeback to the Club that made him grow at an international level, now in position 3, with a particular attention to the block and serve fundamentals that have always set him apart. It is enough to mention that in the four seasons he played in the Italian league, Jan has achieved a total of 201 winning blocks and 84 aces, playing a total of 126 games. He had played the first 44 right with Trento in 2017/18 season where, although starting as an alternative to the main couple Zingel-Eder, he managed to gain more and more space and show its potential off. Later, he gained further experience in Milan (with wich he won a Challenge Cup, together with Sbertoli) and in Rzeszów, as well as in the national team where he made his debut at a very young age back in 2014, winning three silver medals at the European Championships, and where he is still a selling point today. On Friday, July 7th in Pasay City, Philippines, he will face the Italian national team for a VNL 2023 match, finding future teammates such as Lavia, Michieletto and Sbertoli on the other side of the net.
“It is a pleasure to give Jan a Trentino Volley jersey after five years since the last time he had it – said Trentino Volley President Bruno Da Re -; in 2017 we had brought him to Italy with the awareness that he had important potential and quality, which in the medium term would have made him among the most competitive players in his role. We now find him more mature and experienced, ready to offer a great contribution to the team and the group."
“Kozamernik needs no presentations – highlighted the new head coach Fabio Soli - : he is a middle blocker of a certain level, who know well the Italian championship and Trento, who proved to have some important numbers. He will be a member who, also thanks to the already established harmony with Sbertoli, will be able to make himself felt on court in every fundamental."
Kozamernik has signed a two-year contract and will again wear the number 4 jersey, which he used in his previous experience in Trento.
