Saturday night’s match with Taranto marks the 100th appearance for Daniele Lavia

The countdown to the home season debut of Trentino Volley men’s team is almost over. On Saturday, Oct. 28 at 8:30 p.m. at the ilT quotidiano Arena, the Italian Champions will play their first match of the 2023/24 regular season in front of a home crowd; the opponent is Gioiella Prisma Taranto, led by former Trento player Filippo Lanza (300 games with the yellow-blue jersey, including 150 as captain, after growing up in the Youth Team). Among the many reasons to be interested in the match, one in particular involves Daniele Lavia.
The home debut in the SuperLega (match included in season tickets; tickets still available in pre-sale) will be the 100th match with the jersey of Trentino Volley for the Calabrian spiker. A significant circumstance, considering that Lavia is just the fifth player on the current roster to reach triple digits, after Nelli (186), Michieletto (153), Podrascanin (141) and Sbertoli (104). In 99 games played so far (47 in the 2021/22 season, 51 in 2022/23, 1 in 2023/24) Lavia has scored 1,228 points (617 in 2021/22, 593 in 2022/23, 18 in 2023/24), which places him 14th among the all-time great scorers of the Yellow-blue Club.
