Asseco Resovia-Trentino Itas 0-3, the match report

The match report. Trentino Itas took to the court at RCWS Podpromie with Sbertoli as setter, Rychlicki opposite spiker, Michieletto and Lavia as hitter spikers, Kozamernik and Podrascanin as middle blockers, Laurenzano as libero. Asseco Resovia had to do without the American Defalco (out at the last minute due to injury) and responded with Drzyzga as the coach on the floor, Boyer as opposite spiker, Louati and Cebulj as hitter spikers, Kochanowski and Klos as middle blockers, and Zatorski as libero. The start of the match was very balanced, and the first double advantage came when Michieletto tackled Cebulj to make it 11-9, and then hit a rebuilt shot that made it 13-10. When the set resumed, however, it was Trento again who was the big voice in the break point phase, again with Alessandro but also Lavia (13-10, 15-11, 18-13 and 20-14) who scored on all sides of the court. The final phase of the set was under the absolute control of the yellow-blue, who only suffered a little from the verve of the opponent's post four (20-23), but who still found the ball changed at the right time to close the game on 25-21.
Trentino Itas tried to run away immediately also in the second set, thanks to two consecutive aces by Michieletto (6-3), but this time the hosts soon recovered the disadvantage and with Boyer they evened the score at 8-2. Asseco began to believe and to get break-point opportunities more frequently; it was the French opposite number who hoisted his team to a double advantage (13-15). Michieletto (pipe and block) leveled the score at 18, but then Cebulj made it +2 again (19-21). Trento did not give up, leveled the score with Rychlicki at 23, canceled a set ball for the opponents and took advantage of two consecutive errors by Louati to take a 2-0 lead outside the court at 26-24.
On the wave of enthusiasm for the positive conclusion of the previous partial, the Italian champions got off to a great start in the third period (5-1), driven by the increasingly efficient high ball trio. Boyer tried to rebuild the gap up to 8-6, but then Trento again took the reins of the game firmly in their hands with Lavia and Ryclicki (14-10 and 18-12). The 3-0 lead came as early as 25-20 with another hand-out by Daniele Lavia, in the end mvp of the match.
